Destination Rutherglen is an independent, volunteer-run organization dedicated to championing our town's vibrant visitor economy and supporting the local business community. Driven by a passionate committee and supported entirely by local members, we work proactively to showcase Rutherglen as one of Victoria's premier regional destinations.
What We Do
Advocate for Local Business
We work directly with local authorities and transport bodies to protect community interests and improve town infrastructure—such as preserving essential Main Street parking for shoppers and visitors.
Enhance Town Amenities
We invest directly in public projects that make Rutherglen safer and more welcoming, including major contributions to the Gollings Square Lighting Project to brighten our town center.
Support Community Events
We sponsor and partner with key regional events—from the Rutherglen Triathlon and local art prizes to signature music festivals—bringing visitors into town and driving economic growth for local traders.
